Axiyana carries the Sanskrit and Pali root yana — path, journey. We chose it because digital transformation is not a product you buy once; it is a route a business travels, usually further than it expected when it started.
Our story
Why we started
Axiyana Digital was founded in 2026 in Colombo as the software services division of Axiyana Technology Solutions. It started from a pattern we kept running into: capable Sri Lankan businesses held back by software that did not fit them.
Sometimes that was an imported product making assumptions that do not hold here — a point-of-sale package that cannot apply VAT and SSCL in the right order, a learning platform built around semesters and credits when the institute teaches in batches and streams. Sometimes it was a local build delivered without a specification, without documentation, and without anyone left who understood it.
Both problems have the same root: software written without first understanding the work it is supposed to support. So we built the company around that step. We map the process before we design the system, we write the requirements down before we write code, and we hand over documentation good enough that another team could take over tomorrow.
We are deliberately engineering-first and founder-led. When you talk to us about a project, you are talking to the person who will build it — not to an account manager relaying a message to a team you will never meet.
Mission
To give Sri Lankan businesses software that fits how they actually work — built to a standard that holds up anywhere.
Practically, that means specifications before code, systems our clients own outright, and honest advice about what to build and what to leave alone.
Vision
To be the engineering partner Sri Lankan businesses recommend, and international clients choose on merit.
We were set up from day one to work remotely to international standards. Being based in Colombo is where we are, not the limit of who we serve.

Four things we hold to
These are not posters on a wall. Each one costs us something in practice, which is the only test of whether a value is real.
Say the difficult thing early
A problem raised in week two is a conversation. The same problem raised in week ten is a crisis. We would rather deliver uncomfortable news than a pleasant surprise that does not survive contact with reality.
Write it down
Specifications, decisions, and handover documents. If it only exists in someone's head, it is a risk to you — and it is the reason so many businesses are trapped by software nobody understands any more.
Build it to be maintained
Anyone can ship a first version. We optimise for the second year: typed code, reviewed changes, and structure that another team could pick up without a rewrite.
Earn the next project
We are new, and we know exactly what that means: every engagement has to stand on its own. The work is the argument.

The engineering standards were set up for this from the start. We are extending delivery to small and medium businesses outside Sri Lanka.
